The Algarve Railway

The 1400 class of broad guage locomotives were in service in the Algarve in 2001.  This group of 67 engines was introduced between 1967 and 1969.  The bodywork and mechanical parts are by the Portuguese constructor Soreframe, the diesel prime mover and electric transmission by English Electric and the brakes by Westinghouse.
